Pranayama Workshop: Harnessing Prana and the Conscious Awareness of Breath

The term pranayama is derived from Sanskrit root words; prana = “vital life force,” yama = “control” and ayama = “expansion.” Pranayama techniques can be used to promote longevity in our yoga practice, as well as focus the mind, purify the body, or achieve states of liberation.


The workshop will begin with:

  • An educational session about Pranayama

  • An overview of 10 different pranayama techniques

  • Then followed by a yoga sequence where you’ll be guided to use these breathing techniques in your practice, and witness how your body responds to each.

You will learn the science behind how the body benefits from yogic breathing and how to incorporate pranayama into your yoga practice and every day life.

An informative PDF will be provided for each student to reference and to keep after the workshop.

Where: This is a virtual workshop so you can practice in the comfort of your own home! We use ZOOM - so you can sign up up to 15 minutes beforehand. You will receive an email with the confirmation, then a second to join where you will receive the actual class link.
